Bird Adoption is when the bird officially becomes the property of the new owner and as such you will understand that we take this process very seriously indeed. Our process of identifying and accepting someone as a potential adopter is stringent and we have high standards. This is only fair on the bird and on the owner who has had to, often through painful circumstances, offer their bird up for adoption. You would expect nothing less if it were your own bird being adopted.

To be considered as a potential adopter, please download and print the Application Form and return it to us at the address on the Contacts page. We will review it and get in touch to arrange for a home visit.

After adoption we will make further contact with you to ascertain that the bird is happy and healthy and that you are comfortable with the new arrival.

Note: the Application Form is in Microsoft Word format.

NOTE: No cash payments for adoption fees. Credit card, PayPal or check (adoption held until cleared) are accepted for your convenience.

Citron Cockatoo

Citron Cockatoo, M, 26yrs.
"Andre", who's owner could no longer care for him due to health reasons, is adjusting quite well and has come a long way with us. He had been in his previous home all his life and was boarded at the vet's for a few months, where he developed some feather issues, which are now almost all grown back. Andre is a bit shy and would benefit from a kind, loving but knowing hand. He is quite sweet and would make someone a very good "pal". He comes with his own cage. Harlequin Macaw
(male)

Harlequin Macaw, M, Age 22
"Shogun" is a lot of bird although he is very easy to handle. He is quite social and likes to be "out and about" with his person. The spot you see on his beak is a little damage from a previous perch that he scrapped his beak on. It is not going to stay that way and has been treated by the vet, it will eventually grow back clean as the beak continues to grow and shed normally. He has a great big appetite and eats a good balanced diet. He also has a big vocabulary especially for a Macaw. One of his favorite songs to sing is "Happy Bird Day". He will make a great companion in the right hands. He does come with his own cage of course.

He has been vet checked and healthy. He is ready for adoption and comes with his own cage.

"Harley" came to us in pretty bad shape, completely bare chested with a rather large hole in his chest. He has healed but continues to wear a collar as he tends to over preen given the chance.
